Welcome 2020! Each new year offers an exciting opportunity for a fresh start and new beginnings. Here at Parents’ Place we want to start by telling you that we love and appreciate each and everyone of our volunteers! Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization, serving in countless ways to assist the staff in supporting our mission. We are most grateful for their selfless service because we wouldn't be able to accomplish nearly as much without the help of volunteers.
We would like to take a moment to highlight our very own treasured volunteers, Woodrow Hendrix and Anne Battle. They have been our volunteers at Santa Photo Day for over 20 years. Our first Santa Photo Day took place in the early 90’s and has been a popular event for our community. This year we had the pleasure of serving 44 families who had their own special appointment with Santa. Mr. Hendrix is gentle, kind and attentive to the various needs that our children might have. Ms. Battle patiently captures the children’s smiling faces, precious memories and the magic of the season. “Santa” was cautious and possessed the right amount of calm when he held a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy and blindness. If you would like to be a part of our Parents’ Place Volunteer team join us on Saturday, March 14, 2020 between 10 am -11 am. Share your time, energy and feel the satisfaction and joy of knowing you will make a difference in the lives of families of children with special needs. You might also be able to support our staff with various office clerical duties. Learn how you can strengthen our community as you share your time with Parents’ Place. Our volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year. Call us at 626.919.1091 for more information.
