A Message from Elena Sanchez, Executive Director

As we say hello to the new year, the Parents' Place FRC wants to wish you all a happy and safe 2022. Parents' Place will remain open remotely during regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and continue delivering caring services to protect and support our families and community. 

We welcome the new year with a strong collaboration with our local Regional Center with a series of workshops, starting with "IEP 101" presented by Nora Perez -Givens. The SG/PRC Outreach and Compliance team will offer "Living Options" and "How We Can Support You." Attending these series will give you an excellent opportunity to meet the SG/PRC team presenters: Mr. Salvador Gonzalez, Director of Community Outreach and Compliance; Xochitl Gonzalez, Community Outreach Specialist; Daniel Ibarra, Fair Hearing Specialist; Amos Byun, Asian Community Outreach Specialist; and Joshua Treviño, BCBA Specialist. 

We will continue to collaborate with our local School Districts and SELPAs. We look forward to expanding this collaboration with our new alternative dispute resolution "ADR" project.

I am pleased to let you know that our Technology Lending Library (TLL) continues running strong. As of today, we have 230 iPads in families' homes. Please do not forget that we have plenty of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all families receiving services from SG/PRC. We continue to have contactless appointments available for families that need to pick up informational materials, PPE kits, iPads, etc. We are here for you!

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was part of our service delivery. First, we want to thank the entire SG/PRC Team for partnering all year long. Our families and community are blessed to have you as partners. Next, we want to thank the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural Art Museum for opening their doors to our families and children, where they enjoyed a multicultural event, fantastic food, and entertainment. To end the year, we successfully had our drive-through event with the help of our vendor community and volunteers who took part with financial support, goods, toys, and their time. Lastly, our staff and Board of Directors continue to be committed to serving families in the San Gabriel Valley community. Thank you!

Mientras decimos hola al nuevo año, Parents' Place quiere desearles a todos ustedes un seguro y Feliz año 2022. Parents' Place permanecerá abierto de forma remota durante horas hábiles de lunes a viernes de 8:00 a. m. a 4:30 p. m. y continuaremos brindando servicios de cuidado para proteger y apoyar a nuestras familias y comunidad.

Damos la bienvenida al nuevo año con una fuerte colaboración en conjunto con nuestro Centro Regional local con una serie de talleres, empezando con "IEP 101" presentado por Nora Perez-Givens. El equipo de Alcance y Cumplimiento de SG/PRC y su director el Sr. Salvador Gonzalez ofrecerá "Opciones de vida" y "Cómo podemos apoyarlo".  Asistir a estas series le dará una excelente oportunidad de conocer a los presentadores del equipo SG/PRC: El Sr. Salvador González, Director de Alcance Comunitario y Cumplimiento; Xochitl González, Especialista en Alcance Comunitario; Daniel Ibarra, Especialista en Audiencia Justa; Amos Byun, Especialista en Alcance Comunitario Asiático; y Joshua Treviño, Especialista en BCBA. 

Continuaremos colaborando con nuestros distritos escolares, locales y SELPAs. Esperamos expandir esta colaboración con nuestro nuevo proyecto de resolución alternativa de disputas "ADR".

Me complace informarles que nuestra Biblioteca de Préstamo de Tecnología (TLL, por sus siglas en inglés) continúa funcionando con solidez. A la fecha, contamos con 230 iPads en los hogares de las familias. No olvide que tenemos suficiente equipo de protección personal (PPE) para todas las familias que reciben servicios de SG/PRC. Continuamos teniendo citas sin contacto disponibles para familias que necesitan recoger materiales informativos, kits de PPE, iPads, etc. ¡Estamos aquí para ayudarles!

Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecer a todos los que formaron parte de nuestra prestación de servicios. Primero, queremos agradecer a todo el equipo de SG/PRC por colaborar durante todo el año. Nuestras familias y nuestra comunidad tienen la bendición de tenerlos como socios. A continuación, queremos agradecer al Museo de Arte Cultural H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III por abrir sus puertas a nuestras familias y niños, donde disfrutaron de un evento multicultural, comida fantástica y entretenimiento. Para finalizar el año, tuvimos con éxito nuestro evento de autoservicio con la ayuda de nuestra comunidad de proveedores y voluntarios que participaron con apoyo financiero, bienes, juguetes y su tiempo. Por último, nuestro personal y la Junta Directiva siguen comprometidos a servir a las familias de la comunidad del Valle de San Gabriel. ¡Gracias!
