A Message from Elena Sanchez, Executive Director

Happy New Year! We are excited to announce our new Vietnamese Support Group, which begins this month. The support group will meet on Saturday, January 10, 2026, and will be facilitated by Tony Nguyen, our Vietnamese Family Support Specialist. Please see our Support Group section for further details.
Each quarter, our newsletter proudly spotlights a team member, offering them the opportunity to share the important roles they play here at Parents’ Place. For our Winter Spotlight, we are excited to feature Rachel Janadi!

Hi, my name is ­­­­Rachel.
What is your role at Parents’ Place?
I am the Accounting Assistant at Parents’ Place. I ensure our employees are paid for their hard work and reimbursed for any supplies and refreshments they buy for our support groups. I also pay all bills to keep our facility running.
In addition to my daily responsibilities, I provide support in any area that may be needed – from filling in for our Play to Learn support group to helping at all events that we put on throughout the year. 
What led you to your current role?
I have been with Parents’ Place since it opened its doors. I started as a volunteer for the very first Information Fair and Festival and have been working in the prize area there every year since.
Before transitioning into my permanent role, I worked with the accounting office that originally did the books for Parents’ Place. Whenever Parents’ Place was in between employees for the accounting position, I would fill in and was eventually hired permanently. This allowed us to bring all the work in-house.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
It is so fulfilling to know that I am a small part of the exceptional work done at Parents’ Place. I have a nephew with a disability and Parents’ Place has been a big part of his, and so many other individuals, lives. Also, the people here are such a joy to work alongside every day.

¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Nos complace anunciar nuestro nuevo Grupo de Apoyo en Vietnamita, que comienza este mes. El grupo de apoyo se reunirá el sábado 10 de enero de 2026 y será facilitado por Tony Nguyen, nuestro Especialista de Apoyo Familiar en Vietnamita. Consulte la sección de grupos de apoyo para       obtener más detalles.
Cada trimestre, nuestro boletín destaca con orgullo a un miembro del equipo, brindándole la oportunidad de compartir los roles que desempeña aquí en Parents’ Place. Para nuestro Destacado de Invierno, nos complace presentar a Rachel Janadi.
 
Hola, mi nombre es Rachel.
¿Cuál es su rol en Parents’ Place?
Soy la Asistente de Contabilidad en Parents’ Place. Me aseguro de que nuestros empleados reciban el pago por su trabajo y el reembolso por cualquier suministro y refrigerios que compren para nuestros grupos de apoyo. También pago todas las facturas para que nuestras instalaciones sigan funcionando.
Además de mis responsabilidades diarias, brindo apoyo en cualquier área que sea necesaria, desde cubrir el grupo de apoyo Play to Learn hasta ayudar en todos los eventos que organizamos a lo largo del año.
¿Qué la llevó a su rol actual?
He estado en Parents’ Place desde que abrió sus puertas. Comencé como voluntaria en la primera Feria de Información y Festival y desde entonces he trabajado cada año en el área de premios.
Antes de pasar a mi puesto permanente, trabajé con la oficina de contabilidad que originalmente llevaba los libros de Parents’ Place. Siempre que Parents’ Place se quedaba sin personal para el puesto de      contabilidad, yo cubría ese espacio y finalmente fui contratada de manera permanente. Esto nos permitió traer todo el trabajo internamente.
¿Qué es lo que más disfruta de su rol?
Es muy gratificante saber que soy una pequeña parte del trabajo excepcional que se realiza en Parents’ Place. Tengo un sobrino con una discapacidad y Parents’ Place ha sido una parte importante de su vida, y de la vida de muchas otras personas. Además, las personas aquí son una verdadera alegría para trabajar junto a ellas(o) todos los días.
